换版后的ISO 9001标准与ISO 9001:2000相比并没有引入任何新的要求，而是根据世界上170个国家约100万个通过ISO 9001认证的组织的8年实践，更清晰、明确地解释ISO 9001:2000的要求，并增强与ISO 14001:2004的相容性。
ISO 9001:2008 does not contain any new requirements, when compared to ISO 9001:2000. They have recognized that ISO 9001:2008 introduces no new requirements. ISO 9001:2008 only introduces clarifications to the existing requirements of ISO 9001:2000 based on eight years of experience of implementing the standard worldwide with about one million certificates issued in 170 countries to date. It also introduces changes intended to improve consistency with ISO14001:2004.
ISO 9001:2008的认证并不是“升级”，目前已经获得ISO9001:2000认证的企业所持有的证书，与那些已经获得ISO 9001:2008证书同样有效。
Certification to ISO 9001:2008 is not an “upgrade”, and organizations that are certified to ISO 9001:2000 afforded the same status as those who have already received a new certificate to ISO 9001:2008.
ISO 9001:2008发布后一年（即2009年11月15日起），所有的发证审核（初次或续证审核）后都应换发ISO 9001:2008的证书。在进行年度跟踪审核的时候，企业也可以申请换发ISO 9001:2008的证书。ISO 9001:2008发布后两年，现有的所有ISO 9001:2000证书将自动失效，即有效期至2010年11月14日。
One year after publication of ISO 9001:2008 all accredited certifications issued (new certifications or re-certifications) shall be to ISO 9001:2008. During the surveillance audit the valid certificate could be transferred to ISO 9001:2008 as well. Twenty four months after publication by ISO of ISO 9001:2008, any existing certification issued to ISO 9001:2000 shall not be valid.

与ISO 9001:2000相比，ISO 9001:2008对企业的要求并没有太大的改变。
ISO 9001:2008 doesn’t introduce major changes to the requirements, when compared to ISO 9001:2000.
另一方面，为了使您的企业能从中获益，我们建议您能通晓新版标准及相关解释。若在此过程中发现有任何与您目前对ISO 9001:2000标准解释或理解不同之处，请分析其对目前运行文件的影响，并对文件做出必要的调整和完善。ISO 9001的修订预计对运行的文件应该没有影响或者影响甚微。
However, to benefit from the changes, we suggest you get acquainted with the new version of the standard and the clarifications introduced. If, during your analysis of the clarifications you find there are differences from your current interpretation of ISO 9001:2000, then you should analyze the impact on your current documentation and make the necessary arrangements to update it. It is intended that the amendment of ISO 9001 will have minimal or no impacts on documentation.
